Dear Esteemed Members of SANPA and SANPA Partners,
I am deeply honored to address you as the newly elected President of the South Asian Network for Public Administration (SANPA). I assume this role for the next three years with immense enthusiasm and a strong sense of purpose.
First and foremost, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to each one of you for your trust and confidence in me to lead this distinguished organization. SANPA has a rich legacy of fostering collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and innovation in the field of public administration, and I am committed to upholding and enhancing these core values. As we stand at the threshold of a new era, I am excited to share with you my vision for the future of SANPA. Over the next three years, we will focus on several key initiatives that will propel our organization to greater heights:
**Enhanced Networking**: SANPA will continue to provide a platform for South Asian public administration professionals to connect, collaborate, and share best practices. We will expand our networking opportunities through virtual events, webinars, and conferences, ensuring members from diverse backgrounds can engage and learn from each other.
**Research Collaboration**: SANPA is dedicated to advancing knowledge in public administration. We will actively promote research collaboration among our members, utilizing our esteemed book series as a powerful avenue for scholarly contributions. This series, under my editorial guidance, will serve as a premier platform for publishing high-impact research and innovative ideas.
**Capacity Building**: To empower our members and foster professional growth, we will organize workshops and digital conferences on relevant topics such as digital governance, public policy, and leadership development in South Asia. These events will provide a space for meaningful discourse and learning opportunities.
**International Collaboration**: SANPA will continue strengthening its ties with other global public administration networks, fostering international partnerships and collaborations. This will open up opportunities for knowledge exchange and collaborative projects that benefit our members and the broader public administration community to close the gap between the Global South and Global Noth.
**Ethical Governance**: Upholding the highest ethical standards in public administration is paramount. SANPA will work diligently to promote ethics, transparency, and accountability in public service, emphasizing their critical importance in building trust between governments and citizens.
I firmly believe that our collective efforts can lead to positive change in South Asian public administration and contribute to the betterment of our societies. I invite each of you to actively participate, share your expertise, and collaborate with us on this journey of growth and transformation.
Together, we will chart a path toward a brighter future for SANPA and the field of public administration in South Asia. I look forward to working closely with all of you and am excited about the accomplishments and milestones we will achieve together.
Thank you once again for entrusting me with this responsibility. Let us embark on this remarkable journey of progress and innovation.

2024-2026
It gives me immense pleasure to welcome you all to the newly launched SANPA website. The South Asian Network for Public Administration (SANPA) is the product of the enthusiasm and collaboration of a corps of dedicated scholars and practitioners in public administration in South Asia. SANPA’s mission is to foster excellence in the study and practice of public administration in South Asia, a region still battling to establish effective governance in the pursuit of sustainable development for global wellbeing. SANPA can serve as a vital platform to advance the art and science of public administration in the region, and support state initiatives in enhancing creativity and innovation, capability and professionalism, efficiency and effectiveness, and accountability and integrity in South Asia’s public services.
The purpose of this website is to disseminate information on new developments in public administration from around the world, share knowledge on governance problems and practices in the region, establish links between SANPA and other national and regional organizations, and create a forum for strategic thinking on public policy issues. Through this website, our members can partner with one another, either individually or collectively, in research and study, and showcase their academic and professional accomplishments. In short, this website stands to serve as the hub or nerve centre for South Asian public administration.
Best wishes!
